Apple have said that the resignation is due to increased competition between the two companies. Does Apple’s refusal to include Google voice in the iTunes store have anything to do with this shock decision?
The FCC is currently investigating the ban of Google Voice from Apples world famous iTunes store, the investigation centres around “how the decision to ban Google voice was decided” and “on what grounds?”

Steve Jobs, Apples CEO said that the decision was based on Google’s recent unveiling of a new computer operating system.

“we have mutually decided that now is the right time for Eric to resign his position on Apple’s Board.”

“Unfortunately, as Google enters more of Apple’s core businesses, with Android and now Chrome OS (software for mobile phones and computers, respectively), Eric’s effectiveness as an Apple Board member will be significantly diminished, since he will have to recuse himself from even larger portions of our meetings due to potential conflicts of interest,” Jobs said in a statement on Monday.

It does seem as though both parties have parted way under a cloud of competition, but why would Apple feel threatened by Google, even with the announcement of an up and coming new computer operating system? And is the current ban on Google Voice a result of bad blood between the two companies?
This exciting new update has really excited and impressed Google developers from around the world, so what’s so amazing?

The new release appears to have the ability to support multi-touch technology, although quite confusingly a Google source has confirmed that this will not be part of the next release. So it looks like Google are testing the technology.

The new OS update also features Voice to text, a more user friendly camera interface and the ability to select widgets from the home page to give easier access to services like Wifi. There is also a rumour that the new interface will feature gestural recognition, we are not sure if this will be through using the multi-touch screen technology but rumours confirm the possibility of finger movement launching programs and functions.

The new OS is backward compatible, so now the Magic and G1 users can improve their OS, well done Google.
src="http://www.creative-seo.co.uk/creative-seo-news/wp-content/plugins/google-buzz-button/images/google-buzz.png" alt="Google Buzz" />
In very popular move, Google have announced the launch of the Google Android Native Development Kit which will allow software developers to build applications that will run directly on the Native Android platform. Up until recently Android applications were written in Java and ran on the Google Dalvik Java virtual Machine. The native developer’s kit lets software run on Linux although Google sees this as a way of running component based Android applications and not fully fledged programs.

Android applications run in the Dalvik virtual machine. The NDK allows developers to implement parts of these applications using native-code languages such as C and C++,” said Google’s David Turner in a Native Developer Kit blog post.

This move has caused Mozilla to start an investigation into building a new version of Firefox which will run exclusively on the Android platform. The Mobile version of Firefox is known as Fennec but insiders believe the Firefox will continue to use its existing brand.

“Developers are taking a look at the NDK to see if it provides the capabilities we need to bring Fennec to Android. If it’s possible, I think our community would be interested in doing it, because Android will be appearing on more smartphones with the capabilities to provide a good browsing experience,” said Jay Sullivan, Mozilla’s vice president of mobile.
